Location: Lord Thompson Manor, Thompson Connecticut
You all know I’ve been looking forward to a road trip to Connecticut all year. It was perfect thanks to Angela & Ron
The best thing about destination weddings are padding in a few extra days with my Corey. It seems like we’ve got a great balance - he busts his bootie driving thousands of miles, second shooting, and carrying all my ridiculous gear with a smile. We all need a Corey.
I’m going to have to break this event into a couple different posts to highlight the event, location, and sweet production between my studio and the ultra talented John Pottenger on video. Because John is “nerdy like that” he made a video of the drive with his crew. Click here to check his blog.
Quick portrait… more to come!

Wow, I think we’ve spent more on hotel rooms this month than our mortgage. That’s the sign of a great summer.
We’re heading out to Ron and Angela’s wedding in Connecticut today so we can enjoy the long weekend together. Do you remember their smokin hot engagement session in NYC?

If you need anything while I’m away you can catch me on my cell or Goldie at the studio.
Here we go again!

My little sister is a matchmaker. I think she got bonus points when she introduced her friend Bri to Mark because they have been inseparable ever since.
Mark rolled up to my studio on his motorcycle a few weeks ago because he wanted to do something creative for his proposal. Originally he wanted me to photograph all the pieces of jewelry that he bought for Bri, and make a book. The last page would be “the ring.” Well, because she loves all her jewelry it would have been too hard to sneak it away. Soooo we sat and brainstormed and this is what we came up with.
My sweet friends at Memories Bridal gave Mark a tux for our photoshoot. Then I photographed him presenting the ring and then a detail shot of it in studio. Fun, huh!

Then I had my lab make a ginormous print, had it framed, and then we hung it in the shop window of Memories.
Mark pretended that they were walking downtown to get a drink and casually walked past the window display. Of course Bri saw it right away, screamed and said yes!
I think Mark gets bonus points on creativity, huh girls

If I had to do it all over again, it would be just like Jaime and Karen. 27 people on the beach…period.
With the assistance of Jody VanBogelen, their dream wedding came true in South Haven. Everyone kept saying “Oh, this is sooo Karen…”
Let you know as soon as the slideshow is ready!

You know the best part of my job isn’t about taking photographs, it’s about these amazing families. People I may not have ever met under another circumstance. And I just love em to pieces.
I truly give all my heart, love and energy into every wedding. So when the mother of the bride hugs me a the end of a reception with tears of thankfulness… oh, that just fills me up. Assures me that the photographs I take have meaning and purpose to the family.
I can not say it enough…. I’m so blessed
I’m just posting a couple of images that I showed from the reception slideshow. Saving the rest as a surprise for when Jess and Brett return from Greece.
From their super cute engagement session:

And some pre-wedding details - that little picture on the nightstand is Jess when she was 12, and she’s wearing a dress from her grandmother. I’m so sentimental

Gorgeous bride right before we left to go to the church.

Couples that see each other before the wedding are ALWAYS the most relaxed. I just love Brett’s expression when he saw Jess for the first time

Beautiful and sweetest bridesmaids

Cheers to everyone at the event. Full post and slideshow coming right along
